GOODBYE TO A FRIEND
Curt Mortimer and Jon Trott (Project 12 staff) have both written wonderful and touching comments about Franklin (Rusty Franklin Hall), a P12 student killed in a tragic auto accident last week. Please see http://wwww.project12.us for their comments. Thanks so much for your prayers for his family, friends, P12 students and staff. Franklin was -and continues to be- a gift. May we each reflect Jesus with the passion and single-mindedness he exhibited. -Glenn
JOY, SADNESS, MISSION ALL IN THE SAME WEEK
Wendi and I are doing various speaking engagements and shows in and around Morehead State University in Kentucky, this week. Then home and GKB leads worship, I do a baby dedication for longtime JPUSA Community members and rest up from a good but long week.
A sad week as well: a dear, new student from our Project 12 Bible/Discipleship school died in a tragic auto accident out east. He went by the nickname "Franklin", was very serious about loving and serving Jesus, the church and outreach and a witness to the rest of the staff and students. Please pray for them and of course, his family who are suffering this loss.
P12ers take turns bringing devotionals to the class each weekday. Just a couple days prior to the accident one shared a brilliant devo from Corinthians on the resurrection body all Christ-followers will receive. The Lord knows our times and surely began to prepare us all. A lot of prayers, love and of course, grieving is being experienced right now. We know Franklin is with Jesus, but grief is part of the process.
Further, a young couple are celebrating their wedding the same day as the funeral, and the day after that I do the baby dedication of another couple.
This is life in community, with true family in Christ, the life God calls us to as we belong to one another through Him.
Thanks for your continued prayers -and may your light shine as did Franklin's! Such people, though not present in body are continual witnesses of the grace and very apparent reality of Jesus Christ.
With Love, -Glenn
Glad to be back home in Chicago!
